About the Role:

The Cambian Group is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Residential Childcare Leader to join their team in Swadlincote. As a leader in residential childcare, you will be responsible for developing comprehensive care plans that address the unique needs of each young person, ensuring their safety and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement care plans that meet the needs of each young person, including their care, education, social, emotional, cultural, therapeutic, and health needs.
  • Build and manage a high-performing team, providing support and guidance to ensure that each young person receives the best possible care.
  • Foster a culture of consultation, ensuring that young people are involved in decisions that affect their lives.
  • Allocate key workers to each young person, ensuring that their care plan is implemented effectively.
  • Maintain high standards of care, ensuring that the home meets the required quality standards and the Home's Statement of Purpose.
  • Handle complaints and concerns, taking responsibility for addressing any issues that may arise.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, working in partnership with parents, carers, and other professionals to promote the welfare of young people.
  • Participate in meetings, contributing to care planning and review meetings as appropriate.

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience in residential childcare, with at least two years in a supervisory role within the last five years.
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent), or a willingness to start within six months of employment.
  • Knowledge of the Quality Standards, SCCIF, childcare legislation, and regulatory requirements.
  • Efficient planning, organizing, budget control, resource allocation, and team leadership skills.
  • Effective spoken and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the needs of children with behavioural, emotional, and social difficulties, including managing challenging behaviour.
  • Full UK driving license.
