Job Summary:

Penguin Recruitment is seeking a talented Senior Town Planner to join a dynamic team and contribute to a variety of high-profile planning projects across the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and manage a portfolio of planning projects, including energy, infrastructure, industrial, leisure, retail, education, offices, and residential.
  2. Prepare and submit planning applications, appeals, and other planning documentation.
  3. Provide expert planning advice to clients, ensuring the delivery of successful outcomes for development projects.
  4. Engage with local authorities, stakeholders, and communities to facilitate consultation processes.
  5. Monitor and interpret relevant planning legislation and policy changes.
  6. Mentor and guide junior members of the planning team.

Requirements:

  1. Relevant degree in town planning or a related discipline (RTPI accredited).
  2. Membership or eligibility for membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).
  3. Relevant experience in the private sector.
  4. Strong understanding of the UK planning system, policy frameworks, and development processes.
  5. Proven track record of managing planning projects, from inception to approval.
  6. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients, stakeholders, and local authorities.
