Senior Design Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Design Manager to join our London Design Management group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-profile projects and working closely with our Project Directors and Principals.
Key Responsibilities:- Plan and manage design delivery, including monitoring ongoing design-related activities and working with the commercial and design management teams on cost and contract.
- Input into project risk registers and create detailed design programmes.
- Track design activities against programme, milestones, and project changes, including BDP supply chain, CDM, Planning, BREEAM, H&S, Risk, and Assurance.
- Communicate challenges experienced in the design process with the Client's Project Management team and agree on resolution.
- Drive the delivery of projects from inception to completion, working with the BDP team leaders to create work plans.
- Report to BDP directors on progress and performance, and keep clients and project design teams informed of changes to the scopes of work.
- Assist the change team in reviewing changes, defining project impact, pricing changes based on current design, identifying owners, and liaising with the client and the Client Project Management team.
- Input into the monthly project reporting cycle and liaise with the client on monthly changes to cost, fee, resources, and scope.
- Identify resource gaps that need to be addressed to maintain programme and progress in line with project requirements.
- Determine resource requirements in conjunction with the Project Director and Design Leads to accomplish programme deadlines.
- Provide mentoring to less experienced members of the design management team in all aspects of project management.
- Preferred experience in Design, Construction, or Engineering environment.
- Ideal qualifications include a Diploma/ Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Project Management, or related discipline.
- Organised and enthusiastic, with excellent time management skills.
- Ability to be flexible and willing to adapt to the changing needs of the project and team.
- Mathematical and commercial literacy is a must.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office packages, specifically Microsoft Excel.
- Exhibit a proactive, understanding, and flexible approach to dealing with issues.
- A good team player, capable of working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and quality.
