Buckingham Futures seeks a dedicated Public Safety Inspector to join our team.

About the Position

In this critical role, you will work tirelessly to maintain housing standards and ensure the safety and wellbeing of residents in the local area. You will conduct proactive inspections of Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs), investigate and address damp and mould complaints, and collaborate with local authorities and external stakeholders to promote housing compliance.

Main Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular inspections of HMOs to identify potential hazards and non-compliance issues.
  • Respond to and investigate damp and mould complaints from tenants and residents.
  • Provide guidance on housing conditions and required improvements to landlords and tenants.
  • Develop and maintain accurate records of inspections, complaints, and actions taken.
  • Liaise with local authorities and external stakeholders to support housing compliance and public safety initiatives.
Skills and Experience Required

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Substantial experience in housing inspections, property maintenance, or environmental health.
  • Advanced knowledge of HMO regulations, damp and mould issues, and housing standards.
  • Proven track record of managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Relevant qualifications and training for this role.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
Remuneration and Benefits
