Are you a seasoned Mechanical Engineer looking for a challenging opportunity to lead a team in the delivery of complex nuclear projects? We have an exciting role for you at Jacobs, where you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers in the definition, implementation and delivery of specified functional work that achieves safety, functional, legislative and business requirements.

We are part of the Programme and Project Partners (PPP) team, which is delivering major projects, site-wide improvements and provision of supporting services at Sellafield. As a Mechanical Engineer Leader, you will set the assurance strategy ensuring correct stakeholder buy-in at the correct time, including all required design reviews, assistance reviews and any other assurance activities.

You will also carry out effective and proportionate risk management and assurance activities, including calling functional engineering or design capability reviews, especially in relation to novel techniques or solutions which carry significant financial, technical, design or programme risk.

In addition, you will collaborate in the selection and development of optimised, balanced and practical design solutions balancing aspects of safety and environmental performance, operational effectiveness and constructability.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a qualified Chartered Engineer status, at least 8 years of experience in relevant project design work, experience of Front End Engineering Design, Options generation and down selection, and experience in leading a team.
