As a Senior IT Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting the technical services strategy of our clients, ensuring the delivery of excellent teaching and learning, and related administrative functions.
Main Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Manage a team of junior technicians, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful delivery of technical services.
- Technical Strategy: Develop and implement a strategy for assigned areas of responsibility, identifying skills gaps and developing a continuous professional development (CPD) program for team members.
- IT Infrastructure: Deliver the configuration and maintenance of schools' IT infrastructure, ensuring network monitoring is in line with the service strategy.
- Security: Review, develop, and test security best practices prior to implementation across the organization, ensuring the highest level of security and compliance.
- Asset Management: Ensure the organization has an accurate asset log using the inventory system, maintaining up-to-date records of all technical assets.
- Credential Management: Ensure credential documentation is always kept up to date and follows best practice, maintaining the highest level of security and compliance.
- Supplier Management: Manage relationships with 3rd party suppliers, ensuring they deliver against agreed service level agreements.
- Procurement: Ensure procurement processes are followed to ensure best value is achieved, maintaining transparency and accountability throughout the process.
Requirements:
- Education: Educated to at least 'GCSE' standard with English and Maths at level C or above, together with a qualification in a related field.
- Experience: Demonstrated experience as a Senior IT Technician in a large organization, with a good understanding of technologies employed in schools.
- Skills: Advanced user of Microsoft Office, with excellent written, oral, interpersonal, and negotiation skills. Ability to analyze data confidently and produce accurate work with a keen eye for detail.
- Driving License: Full driving license and access to a vehicle required for this role.
