Surgical Ward Leadership Role

We are seeking an experienced Ward Manager to join our dynamic team at Spire Gatwick Park Hospital. As a key member of our clinical leadership team, you will be responsible for managing the inpatient and Day care wards, providing excellent clinical and managerial leadership, and supporting the Director of Clinical Services in the overall management and leadership of the healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the service to deliver against Spire key performance indicators, ensuring the efficient and safe running of the department.
- Line management and leadership of the in-patient services team, including recruitment, induction, mandatory training, and performance review.
- Resolve and manage complaints and patient feedback in line with Spire Policy.
- Ensure effective systems are in place to manage stocks and work closely with the Finance Manager to ensure compliance.
- Undertake audits and reviews of the departments and implement action plans in response to findings.
- Develop the service and deliver against targets, working closely with the Business Development Team.
- Promote and maintain a close working relationship with external organisations to ensure standardisation and sharing of best practice.
- Embed Clinical Governance and risk management within daily practice.
- Registered Nurse with NMC pin.
- Experience of working in an acute environment.
- Experienced Clinical Manager, ideally with experience on a busy surgical ward.
- Currently working as a ward manager with experience in covering wards and day care.
- Competence across a range of skills, supported by professional and clinical knowledge acquired through state registration and additional training.
