Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate pharmacy technician to join our team at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a pharmacy technician, you will play a crucial role in patient care, working closely with our pharmacy team to provide a clinical and ward-based medicines management service.

Main Duties

As a pharmacy technician, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing a clinical and ward-based medicines management service to clinical areas within the directorate.
  • Liaising with and training nursing, medical, and pharmacy staff regarding medication management issues and the safe use or storage of medication.
  • Working with the ward team to ensure safe storage of medicines at ward level, including temperature checks and appropriate storage of controlled drugs.
  • Participating in the dispensary rotas, including a minimum of 25% of time providing daily dispensary support.

Person Specification

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience in hospital or community pharmacy.
  • Professional Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Must be ACT accredited.
  • NVQ3 in Pharmaceutical Services or Equivalent.
