About the Role

Kirklees Council is seeking a skilled professional to join our housing management team as a Housing Worker. This role is a fantastic opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of our clients and contribute to the delivery of high-quality housing services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of properties for clients with support needs, ensuring their housing is safe and suitable.
  • Lead on property sign-ups and re-lets, working closely with the repairs team and support staff to meet client needs.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify and address any issues with client housing.
  • Report and monitor repairs, ensuring timely resolution and client satisfaction.
  • Encourage timely payment of rent and service charges from clients.
  • Ensure communal areas are safe and clean, promoting a positive living environment.
  • Resolve issues related to anti-social behavior and neighborly disputes through effective communication and problem-solving.
  • Engage in difficult conversations with clients, providing support and guidance to help them overcome challenges.
