Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Veterinary Cancer Specialist to join our team at Recruit Island. As a Senior Oncology Clinician, you will be responsible for providing expert care to our patients with cancer.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary specialist referral hospital, where you will be part of a two-clinician team. You will be supported by an experienced Senior Oncology Nurse, rotating Internal Medicine/Oncology nurses, and Rotating Nurse Interns.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert care to patients with cancer, including diagnosis, treatment, and management.
  • Work closely with other disciplines, including Soft Tissue Surgery, Diagnostic Imaging, Internal Medicine, Anaesthesia and Analgesia, Cardiology, Dentistry, Neurology and Neurosurgery, Ophthalmology, and Orthopaedic Surgery.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of treatment plans, including chemotherapy administration and electrochemotherapy.
  • Contribute to the education and training of junior staff members.
  • Collaborate with other clinicians to ensure seamless patient care.

Requirements

  • MRCVS Eligible to work in the UK.

On-Call Arrangements

On-call weekends are remote only. The Emergency and Critical Care service manages new referrals and existing Oncology patients out of hours with remote Oncologist support.
