About the Role
The Greenwich PCN Alliance is seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective supply of prescribed medication to patients across our primary care network.
Key Responsibilities
As a Pharmacy Technician, you will be responsible for:
- Implementing repeat prescribing and repeat dispensing processes, ensuring a centralised and safe medicines optimisation process across our PCN practices.
- Running searches and acting on MHRA CAS alerts to ensure patient safety.
- Supporting patient queries related to medicines and referring complex queries to pharmacists, nurses, or GPs as needed.
- Identifying patients suitable for virtual clinics to support QIPP implementation and ensuring patients receive necessary anticoagulant, lithium, steroid, or antiplatelet cards.
- Working on the Health Innovation Network (HIN) Project, lipid management, by identifying patients, risk stratifying using UCLP search templates on EMIS, and contacting patients for up-to-date home BP readings.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
- Competence in the use of Office and Outlook.
- Effective time management and planning skills.
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to follow clinical policy and procedure.
- Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacy Technician and BTEC/NVQ3 Pharmacy Services (or equivalent).
- Experience working as a qualified, registered pharmacy technician, preferably in primary care or a GP practice.
