About the Role

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Clinical Psychologist to join our team at Priory Group. As a Clinical Psychologist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical assessments and interventions to patients with learning disabilities and mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive and specialist assessments, intervention packages to patients to help them develop resilience, make sense of past life events, improve attachment to relationships, make sense of emotional, behavioural and developmental difficulties that can result from experience of abuse, neglect, maltreatment and/or adversity.
  • Deliver full programme for groups and individuals for therapy primarily using DBT/CBT, Risk Assessments and Management.
  • Support with the delivery of a full ward programme which will include facilitating groups and managing a case load of patients for individual therapy sessions.
  • Use a range of psychological therapies including dialectical behavioural therapy.
  • Be involved in Risk Assessments and Management.
  • Provide clinical, professional and managerial leadership to the MDT team and ward.
  • Ensure a high standard of evidence-based psychology care is consistently delivered to patients.
  • Ensure that a safe, cost-effective service is provided.
  • Act as a role model and patient advocate, ensuring a positive patient experience for all.
  • Be responsible for Information Governance standards.
  • Promote good relationships with patients, relatives, public, other care organisations and all members of the multidisciplinary care team.
  • Ensure audit compliance (CQC).
  • Carry out clinical supervision to Assistant Psychologist.
  • Promote good communication skills written and verbally.

Requirements

  • Qualified Psychologist with an interest in learning disability/mental health forensic services.
  • Strong focus on service development, service evaluation, providing psychological consultation, expert opinion, cascading psychological thinking, developing and delivering teaching, training and group work.
  • Flexible to work weekends and bank holidays.
