We are seeking an experienced Embedded Systems Engineer to join our Production team in Glasgow, focusing on testing and supporting the development of small satellite systems.

The successful candidate will have relevant work experience, a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, and excellent problem-solving skills. You will be able to work independently and collaborate effectively within a dynamic multicultural team.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of existing projects and missions where your work can literally end up in space.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting tests and reporting results for electronic assemblies and spacecraft systems
  • Supporting spacecraft assembly and delivering hardware for projects to expected standards and timescales
  • Engaging with Project Managers and project reviews to ensure test schedules align with project timelines
  • Producing and communicating progress and status of hardware under test to stakeholders
  • Supporting Design Engineers with testing and debugging of current and new designs
  • Verifying spacecraft hardware meets customer requirements
  • Collating, reviewing, and writing reports for test results with recommended actions
  • Working to company standards relating to Quality Management System and other quality processes mandated by customers
  • Supporting the wider team as needed

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree or equivalent work experience
  • Demonstrated competence in electrical and electronics engineering principles
  • Evidence of knowledge of schematic diagrams and PCB layout to debug hardware
  • Ability to apply electrical expertise to product range such as battery packs, power systems, DC-DC converters, etc.
  • Working knowledge of test equipment
  • Experience following test and evaluation plans
  • Capability and willingness to write effective test and evaluation plans
  • Demonstrated ability to apply test methodology to debug issues
  • Demonstrated understanding of Health and Safety and Quality Management Systems
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a multicultural team
  • Ability to make good decisions under highly demanding, dynamic environments
  • Competent IT skills including Microsoft software
  • Proficient in English, both verbally and written

Our Estimated Salary Range:

$70,000 - $90,000 per annum, based on location and experience.
