Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Payroll Management: Manage monthly and weekly payrolls using workdays, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as relevant laws and regulations.
  • Pensions Administration: Handle pensions automatic enrolment, ensuring employees are enrolled correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Employee Onboarding and Offboarding: Process new hires and terminations, ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed and employees are set up correctly.
  • Absence Management: Manage absences, including SSP, SAP, SMP, SPP, and ShPP, ensuring employees are paid correctly and in accordance with company policies.
  • Exception Reporting: Review exception reports to identify anomalies and ensure corrections are made in a timely manner.
  • Communication: Liaise effectively with HR, line managers, finance, benefits administrators, external providers, and HMRC, ensuring clear communication and resolution of payroll-related issues.
  • Query Resolution: Respond to pay-related queries from staff, HMRC, and other bodies, ensuring prompt and accurate resolution.
  • Reporting: Assist in reporting annual ONS data, ensuring accurate and timely submission.
  • Payroll Services: Provide accurate and timely payroll services, ensuring employees are paid correctly and in accordance with company policies.
  • Employee Support: Offer advice and guidance to employees and managers, ensuring payroll-related issues are resolved promptly and accurately.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years' experience in high-volume payroll processing.
  • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of PAYE, NIC, SSP, SMP, SAP, and RTI processes.
  • Skills: Strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel and Word, and familiarity with Workday payroll system.
  • Legislation: Knowledge of pensions auto-enrolment legislation and recent experience with Workday payroll system is ideal.
