Job SummaryThe Metrology Technician will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and precision of measurement activities within the quality assurance department. This includes the measurement of parts, sub-assemblies, and finished vehicles, as well as the calibration of measurement equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement measurement programs using Camio software to ensure accurate and reliable measurement results.
- Operate and maintain bridge machines, twin columns, and Faro arms to conduct measurements and calibrations.
- Interpret engineering drawings and CAD models to ensure accurate measurement and calibration.
- Collaborate with quality technicians, engineers, and senior managers to resolve quality issues and ensure compliance with internal and external procedures.
- Develop and maintain relationships with production, manufacturing engineering, design, product development, and suppliers to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Conduct audits and inspections to ensure compliance with quality procedures and standards.
- Develop and maintain reports using Polyworks and PiWeb to track measurement results and quality issues.
- Completion of an automotive apprenticeship or engineering qualification (city & guilds level 3 + or equivalent).
- Experience with twin column and bridge machine operation, Faro arm operation, and programming/operation of equipment using Camio software.
- Experience with PiWeb Monitor and Designer, as well as Polyworks.
- Computer literate and proficient in report writing.
- Ability to travel throughout the facility and occasionally to other Aston Martin sites.
- Full driving license required.
