About the Role

We are seeking a skilled CNC Production Setter to join our team at the world leader in aircraft landing and braking systems. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for operating conventional and numerically controlled (CNC) equipment to produce high-quality landing gear pipes.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Operate CNC equipment to perform production tasks, following approved programs and quality procedures.
  2. Prepare and install tools, measuring and test equipment, and automatic control stations.
  3. Load computer programs and input production equipment settings to ensure correct functioning.
  4. Run machine programs to perform operations, checking for geometric tolerances and quality compliance.
  5. Inspect finished products and identify defects, taking part in adjustment or follow-up operations as needed.
  6. Enter and save production data in the production management file.
  7. Maintain workstations, tools, and work areas in good condition, adhering to guidelines.
  8. Propose technical and organizational improvements to enhance work conditions and industrial performance indicators.

Candidate Requirements

  1. Must have a Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship, NVQ level 3.
  2. Work to a high standard of Health, Safety & Environmental compliance.
  3. Understanding of the basic principles of the pipe manufacture process.
  4. Knowledge of Assembly and completion of associated production acceptance testing.
  5. General knowledge of Fabrication and the relevant machinery.
  6. Ability to follow and understand technical drawings, specs, procedures, and Test instructions.
  7. Understanding of the risks related to Foreign Object Damage (FOD).
  8. Knowledge of and proficiency with quality tools, such as 5S, Lean/6-Sigma.
  9. Ability to self-inspect and complete dimensional measurements.
  10. An understanding of the programming of NC machines would be an advantage.
