About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented technical business analyst to join our team at Rail Delivery Group, delivering new features on our digital channels. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage and communicate effectively with both technical teams and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Planning and Coordination:
    • Review and refine business requirements to ensure the design of proposed APIs meets business needs.
    • Work with technical teams to ensure adherence to Rail Delivery Group standards and best practices.
    • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure APIs are secure, efficient, and scalable.
    • Ensure API documentation is completed and of sufficient quality.
    • Work closely with supplier development teams to ensure successful integration of APIs into new and existing systems.
    • Coordinate with business customers to understand their requirements and ensure releases meet their needs.
    • Conduct training sessions and workshops with the business on API usage and release processes.
    • Support QA in the testing of APIs and help identify and resolve bugs and performance issues.
    • Work with product owners to manage and prioritize the product backlog.

  • Requirements:
    • 2+ years of experience in a technical analyst role, with a focus on API development and integration
    • Strong understanding of RESTful and SOAP APIs as well as XML
    • Experience with API management tools such as Postman, Swagger, or similar
    • Knowledge of web services, microservices architecture, and cloud technologies
    • Familiarity with database technologies (SQL, NoSQL) and data formats (JSON, XML)
    • Knowledge of security best practices for APIs
    • Use of Jira for project tracking and issue management
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve complex problems
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
    • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
