Job Description
- Diagnose and repair vehicle faults using diagnostic equipment and a systematic approach. Communicate effectively with customers to understand their concerns.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest automotive technology and learn how to diagnose and repair issues related to new models.
- Perform repairs and servicing to the highest standards, adhering to manufacturer specifications and quality guidelines.
- Prioritize safety in all work activities, ensuring a secure environment for yourself and others.
- Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors when facing complex challenges or seeking guidance.
- Verify the quality of completed work through diagnostic testing and road-testing vehicles. Maintain clear communication with service advisors.
- Complete accurate service documentation, including job sheets, pre-delivery inspections (PDIs), and service reports, in accordance with brand standards and company requirements.
- Conduct thorough vehicle health checks and create informative video presentations for customers (or equivalent).
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to workshop housekeeping standards and proper tool usage.
Requirements
- Proficiency in using modern diagnostic equipment.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and adherence to cleanliness standards.
- Experience working efficiently to meet performance targets.
- Valid UK driving license.
- Previous experience in a main automotive dealership is preferred but not essential.
- VOSA-approved MOT tester certification is an advantage but not required.
- Hold Level 2 Vehicle Maintenance and Repair NVQ or equivalent qualification.
