Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Estimator/Senior Estimator to join our team at Willmott Dixon. As a key member of our pre-construction team, you will be responsible for managing commercial activities with a high degree of acumen and identifying opportunities to add value throughout the project process.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage commercial activities with a high degree of acumen, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of tenders and cost plans.
- Identify opportunities to add value throughout the project process, including cost savings and process improvements.
- Lead the supply chain enquiry process, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders.
- Price selected trades from first principles, using industry-standard estimating software.
- Produce detailed control documents at handover to the delivery team, ensuring seamless project execution.
- Conduct risk assessments and input into project risk registers, ensuring proactive risk management.
- Lead and prepare the complete commercial and pricing element of tenders and cost plans, ensuring accurate and competitive pricing.
- Prepare whole life costing analysis, ensuring informed decision-making and cost optimization.
- Prepare pre-construction elements of project waste management plans, ensuring sustainable and responsible practices.
- Reinforce and deliver our customer-first ethic through successful bid and personal performance, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction.
Essential Criteria
- Successful delivery of tenders on a wide range of projects.
- Experience of various construction methods and techniques.
- Experience of controlling costs, timing, and quality in line with targets.
- Good standard of mathematical ability and attention to detail.
Desirable Criteria
- Minimum relevant level 4 qualification (HNC/NVQ4 etc).
- Relevant degree in a construction-related field.
- Experience of using Conquest Estimating System or similar software.
- Experience of taking off quantities up to SMM 7.
- Working towards MCIOB/RICS certification.
