About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated individual to lead, manage, and develop our forensic, digital, and media recovery and assessment services within Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP). This crucial role will oversee the delivery of these essential services to CTP and partner agencies, ensuring operational effectiveness and compliance with relevant ISO standards.
As Head of Forensics and Digital Investigations, you will:
- Develop and implement strategic policies and procedures for forensic, digital, and media recovery operations.
- Lead a team of specialists in providing expert analysis and support to high-profile investigations.
- Represent CTP in national and international forums related to CBRN forensics, collaborating with partners to ensure best practices are shared and implemented.
- Provide strategic advice to CTP on operational issues, training requirements, and international exercises within the CBRN domain.
This role requires a strong understanding of forensic science principles, digital investigation techniques, and relevant legislation. Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this demanding position.
Key Requirements
- Proven experience in leading and managing forensic teams within a law enforcement or security environment.
- In-depth knowledge of forensic science principles, digital investigation methodologies, and relevant legal frameworks.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide clear recommendations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
Security Clearance
Due to the sensitive nature of this role, successful candidates must be eligible for and maintain a minimum level of Security Clearance (SC). This typically requires British nationality and residency in the UK for the past five years. Exemptions may apply for certain individuals with relevant experience or service.
