Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Information and Communication Technology (ICT) educator to join our team at Shaw Trust. As an ICT educator, you will be responsible for delivering accredited learning to young people undertaking ICT study programs at Her Majesty's Youth Offenders Institute (HMYOI) Feltham.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver high-quality ICT teaching and learning strategies to meet the needs of our young people.
- Teach a range of ICT courses, including those at Entry Level to Level 3, and ensure that all teaching meets the required standards.
- Assess and evaluate the progress of our young people, providing constructive feedback and guidance to support their development.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and implement effective learning and assessment strategies.
- Contribute to the development of our ICT curriculum, ensuring that it remains relevant and engaging for our young people.
- Ensure that all teaching and learning activities are aligned with Shaw Trust's policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Occupationally competent in ICT.
- Possession of a relevant teaching or training qualification (e.g. QTS, QTLS, DTTLS, PGCE).
- Experience of teaching on and assessing accredited ICT qualifications from Entry Level to Level 3.
- Demonstrable experience of providing excellent customer service skills.
- An ongoing interest in and knowledge of recent developments in ICT qualifications.
Working Arrangements
This role will be based within HMYOI Feltham and will require you to work in a prison setting Monday to Friday. Working hours will be Monday to Thursday: 8:00am to 4:45pm (including a 45-minute lunch break) and Friday: 8:00am – 13:30pm.
