We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Forensic Examiner to join our team at the Scottish Police Authority. As a Forensic Examiner, you will be responsible for carrying out recovery of evidence, examinations, and testing in the laboratory, as instructed, to clearly defined standards and reporting the factual outcome.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out Chemistry & Documents activity in the new Search & Recovery Capability.
- Work closely with colleagues to ensure the highest standards of evidence recovery and examination.
- Develop and maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and guidelines, including Health and Safety, COSHH, and contamination guidelines.
- Collaborate with other teams to ensure the effective delivery of forensic services.
- Education to degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant science-related subject.
- Relevant operational experience in a forensic environment.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
