We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Tonic Talent. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for overseeing the back of house operations in our fast-paced, fresh-food cafe & restaurant located within a busy visitor attraction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head Chef in managing the kitchen team and ensuring the smooth operation of the back of house.
  • Develop and implement menus, recipes, and cooking techniques to drive sales and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Manage inventory, ordering, and stock control to minimize waste and optimize profitability.
  • Collaborate with the front of house team to ensure seamless service and high-quality customer experience.
  • Contribute to the development of the overall offering of the business, including menu planning, food presentation, and customer service standards.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a quality, fresh-food, fast-paced restaurant environment.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and train a team.
  • Excellent culinary skills, with a passion for innovation and creativity in menu development.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize deadlines.
  • Flexibility to work a 40-hour week, with occasional evenings and weekends.
