Job Description


We are seeking an experienced Senior Pathologist to join our team as a Cancer Diagnostic Specialist. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional to contribute to the delivery of high-quality cancer diagnostic services and play a key role in shaping the future direction of our department.



About the Role


The successful candidate will have extensive experience in diagnostic pathology and a strong track record of delivering high-quality results. They will be responsible for providing expert advice on complex cases, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and contributing to the development of strategic objectives for the directorate.



Key Responsibilities



  • Contribute to the delivery of high-quality cancer diagnostic services, ensuring timely and accurate results
  • Provide expert advice on complex cases, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve service efficiency and effectiveness
  • Collaborate with colleagues to identify areas for improvement and develop solutions
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices and emerging technologies in diagnostic pathology


Person Specification


The ideal candidate will possess:



  • A recognised medical qualification (MBBS or equivalent)
  • Full GMC registration and a licence to practise
  • FRCPath or equivalent certification
  • Significant experience in diagnostic pathology, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality results
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
