Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team at Barnet and Southgate College as a Communication Support Assistant. This role involves providing specialist support to our college students with hearing impairments, promoting awareness and understanding of Hearing Impairment in the college and wider community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialist support to students with hearing impairments, ensuring their needs are met and they have equal access to education.
  • Work closely with teaching staff, support staff, and students to promote a culture of inclusion and awareness of Hearing Impairment.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external agencies and organizations to ensure students receive the best possible support.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies to promote awareness and understanding of Hearing Impairment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure that all students, including those with hearing impairments, have access to a high-quality education.

Requirements:

  • Hold a minimum BSL level 3 qualification, CSW qualification, or Deaf Studies Degree.
  • Have experience of working with deaf students in an educational environment.
  • Hold a relevant Level 3 or equivalent qualification with grades 5-9 in English and Mathematics.
