Production Machinist

Oerlikon Group is looking for an experienced Production Machinist to join our busy manufacturing facility in Dukinfield. As an Engineering Operative (grinder), you will be responsible for the production of high-quality components for the oil and gas industry.

• CNC machine operation (trained employees only)
• Interpreting technical drawings, manufacturing, and processing free issue components according to drawings, specs, and other information
• Operating machinery safely, and in accordance with training within the engineering department
• Polishing of components if required (trained employees only)
• Recording working time (chargeable and non-chargeable), and materials/consumables (if appropriate) in MES/SAP
• Changing grinding wheels in accordance with health and safety training provided
• Inspecting finished work, with dye penetrant testing if required (trained employees only)
• Passing completed work to inspection department (CMM) as required
• Ensuring compliance with all relevant internal and external regulations, directives, and legislation
• Maintaining a clean and tidy working area
• Applying LEAN principles and striving for continual improvement
• Machining and grinding of base materials and various coatings

The salary for this role is estimated to be around £40,000 - £50,000 per annum, depending on experience.
