Senior Account Manager

We are partnering with a leading communications and PR business to find a talented Senior Account Manager to join their team. This role will be based in Cheltenham, with flexible working arrangements in place, and will focus on delivering high-quality public affairs and communications campaigns for infrastructure and built environment clients.
Main Responsibilities- Contribute strategically to client business, demonstrating a deep understanding of the commercial environment and potential business issues.
- Oversee all aspects of a campaign/project, driving it forward and ensuring successful delivery.
- Lead and manage the communications plan, meeting agreed goals and highlighting performance issues, applying effective evaluation, measurement, and reporting systems.
- Prepare and present plans/recommendations to existing clients, showcasing expertise and building trust.
- Take an active interest in new business activity, networking for leads and contributing to the pitch process, as well as drafting new business documents.
- Manage 'incidents' and monitor crises with minimal support from senior directors.
- Lead and train other members of the account team, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
- Manage the work of Account Executives, delegating tasks, briefing, monitoring progress, and ensuring high-quality delivery.
- Conduct client meetings, taking ownership of driving a portfolio of accounts forward simultaneously.
- Maintain regular contact with clients, building long-term relationships based on trust and value.
- 2-4 years of experience in PR/communications
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills
- Strong presentation, consultation, and negotiation skills
- Confidence, tact, and a persuasive manner
- Good organisational and time management skills
- The ability and experience leading and motivating a team
- A willingness to work long hours, often under pressure
- Good business sense and the ability to work to budgets
