Senior New Product Development Scientist

Our client, a leading specialist flavours and fragrance company, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior New Product Development Scientist to join their Innovation team on a full-time and permanent basis.

This is a challenging and varied role that will involve working on new product development initiatives, technical operations, and manufacturing/analytical improvement projects. As a Senior New Product Development Scientist, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing new trial blends of flavours and fragrances.
  • Leading innovation projects to drive business growth and revenue.
  • Implementing new technologies for flavour/fragrance products.
  • Providing technical advice on analysis of blends and flavours using GC-MS, HPLC, headspace, etc.
  • Working on technical projects to reduce costs and increase revenue.
  • Supporting the bulking, planning, and manufacturing departments.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in chemistry, food science, or biochemistry (or related sector).
  • Experience in a similar role (ideally 5 years+, but minimum of 2 years).
  • An interest in the food, flavour, and fragrance industry.
  • Experience in leading chemistry-focused projects relating to method development, business cost reduction, and new product development.
  • Strong technical understanding of various analytical techniques.
