About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team at Randstad. As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver Targeted Support: Provide individualized support to students with SEMH needs, both within and outside the classroom.
  • Collaborate with Teaching Staff: Work closely with teachers to plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to the needs of students with SEMH needs.
  • Develop Education Care Plans: Assist in the creation and implementation of Education Care Plans (ECPs) for students, ensuring their unique needs are met.
  • Cultivate a Positive Learning Environment: Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes emotional well-being and positive behavior.
  • Lead Small Group Interventions: Lead small group interventions to support students' social and emotional development, helping them build resilience and confidence.
  • Contribute to Assessment and Tracking: Contribute to the assessment and tracking of students' progress, providing feedback to teaching staff and parents to ensure student success.
  • Collaborate with Professionals: Work collaboratively with other professionals, including educational psychologists and external agencies, to ensure comprehensive support for students.
Requirements
  • Relevant Experience: Possess relevant teaching assistant experience, with a strong understanding of SEMH strategies and interventions.
  • Previous Engagement: Have previous experience working with students with SEMH needs, demonstrating a deep understanding of their unique challenges.
  • Exceptional Communication Skills: Possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, able to build strong relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Teamwork and Independence: Demonstrate the ability to work effectively within a team and independently, adapting to changing circumstances as needed.
