Aircraft Mechanic Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled aircraft mechanic to join our team at American Airlines, specializing in widebody aircraft maintenance. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and be part of a dynamic environment.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring the airworthiness of our aircraft fleet. A strong background in aircraft mechanics, particularly with widebody aircraft such as the B777 and B787, is essential.

About the Role
  • You will be working on various operations including troubleshooting, disassembly, inspection, repair, testing, replacement, adjustment, assembly, installation, servicing, and taxiing or towing aircraft.
Key Responsibilities
  • Certify your own workmanship and sign mechanical flight releases for all completed work on field assignments.
  • Source parts when stock chasers are not maintained or unavailable.
  • Collaborate with other aviation maintenance personnel to accomplish assigned tasks.
  • Adhere to FAA, company regulations, procedures, and instructions from supervisors.
  • Complete forms related to work assignments in accordance with established procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with other company personnel as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, including cleaning aircraft windshields, connecting/disconnecting ground power and ground start units, pushing out/towing aircraft, and related guide man functions.
Requirements

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Must be able to read, write, speak fluently, and understand English.
  • Must hold a valid driver's license.
  • Must possess a FAA Airframe and Powerplant license and/or equivalent (EASA or UK, for example).
  • Must have large aircraft experience, preferably with widebody aircraft.
  • Must be willing to work rotating shifts, including weekends, holidays, and days-off.
  • Must have the right to live and work in the UK without restriction.
Salary Information

The estimated salary for this position is £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience. The exact salary will be discussed during the interview process.
