Job Summary

Orchard Therapeutics, a leading gene therapy company, is seeking a seasoned Vice President of Manufacturing Technology and Supply to drive strategic leadership and oversight of internal and external manufacturing operations, as well as global supply chain activities. Reporting to the Chief Technical Officer, this role will provide vision and direction for the planning and execution of global expansion into new markets, ensuring on-time delivery of high-quality products to patients in the most efficient and cost-effective way.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight of manufacturing operations, including process development, scale-up, and commercialization.
  • Develop and execute global supply chain strategies to ensure adequate manufacturing capacity and product inventory availability.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to achieve strategic and pipeline project goals, including technical transfer, regulatory strategies, and process validation.
  • Manage program risk and budgetary planning, ensuring successful project execution and delivery.
  • Collaborate with internal functions, including Technical Development, Quality, and CMC Regulatory, as well as external partners and CDMOs.

Requirements

Knowledge & Experience

  • Substantial experience in pharmaceutical industry leading manufacturing science and technology (MSAT/ASAT) within a CGT environment.
  • Proven expertise in leading global supply chain activities within CGT.
  • Experience in developing and scaling up HSC and LVV manufacturing processes.
  • Strong knowledge of biotechnology, GMPs, and drug development pathway through to commercialization.
  • Proven track record of managing complex projects in a biotech industry environment.

Education

BSc in a relevant scientific discipline such as Biotechnology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Chemical Engineering, or another relevant field.
