Job Description

Affinity Personnel is seeking a Cloud and Network Architect to join our team. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our cloud and network infrastructure to ensure high availability, performance, and security.

About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a high level of technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

About You

To be successful in this position, you will need to have a strong background in cloud and network architecture, including experience with cloud-based solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure), networking protocols, firewalls, and server optimization. You should also have hands-on experience with databases (SQL or NoSQL) and proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation, as well as a solid understanding of system security best practices and tools.

Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and maintain our cloud and network infrastructure to ensure high availability, performance, and security.
  • Support and optimize trading systems for speed, scalability, and reliability.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot system performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks in real time.
  • Implement and oversee system security protocols to protect against cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Automate processes for system monitoring, deployment, and backups to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with trading, quant, and development teams to align infrastructure with business needs.
  • Document infrastructure processes and provide ongoing technical support.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in managing cloud-based solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  • Strong knowledge of networking protocols, firewalls, and server optimization.
  • Hands-on experience with databases (SQL or NoSQL) and proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation.
  • Familiarity with trading systems and low-latency environments is a strong plus.
  • Solid understanding of system security best practices and tools.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.

The ideal candidate will be based in London, New York, or Hong Kong. We offer a competitive salary of £80,000 - £100,000 per annum, depending on experience.
