About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to join our team in the Cyber domain. As a Data Scientist, you will be responsible for storing, managing, manipulating, visualising, and analysing mission critical data.
You will work with a range of specialisms, including data flows, standardisation, and pre-processing, as well as developing and maintaining Machine Learning models.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing data flows, standardising, and pre-processing vast quantities of data.
- Developing, fine-tuning, and maintaining Machine Learning models.
- Producing data visualisations that provide insight into dataset structure and meaning.
- Working with subject matter experts to identify important information in raw data.
- Developing scripts that extract information from various data sources and formats.
- Translating customer requirements into software prototypes.
- Applying AI techniques to improve productivity and reduce analyst workload.
- Developing and implementing statistical, machine learning, and heuristic techniques to create descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics.
- Developing statistical tests to make data-driven recommendations and decisions.
- Developing experiments to collect data or models to simulate data when required data are unavailable.
- Developing feature vectors for input into machine learning algorithms.
- Identifying the most appropriate algorithm for a given dataset and tuning input and model.
- Evaluating and validating the performance of analytics using standard techniques.
The position will be full-time, within the existing team delivering cutting-edge solutions for both customer and Lockheed Martin enterprises.
We have a range of roles from Early Careers to senior leaders in their field.
More senior staff will have the opportunity to lead on activities, mentor others, utilise their technical expertise, and typically have general knowledge of other related disciplines.
Required Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
- Experience with data science and modern machine learning techniques in the cyber domain and discovery operations.
- Experience with standard analytic techniques and metrics.
- Knowledge of Natural Language Processing and Image Processing techniques.
- Familiarity with Predictive modelling, Statistical Analysis, and Hypothesis testing.
- Experience with algorithm design and development in cloud environments.
- Fluency in at least one coding language (Python preferred) and surrounding libraries for data management, statistics, machine learning, and visualisation.
- Experience of standard machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch.
- Experience of working with large quantities of data using Hadoop and Spark.
- Knowledge of cloud-based analytical platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, Google BigQuery.
- Experience with workflow and pipelining frameworks such as Kubeflow, MLFlow, or Argo.
- Strong appreciation of ethical AI considerations.
