Your Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Vehicle Systems Integration Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for integrating complex vehicle systems into a coherent whole to enable our software to be developed and tested on our autonomous vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Integrate complex vehicle systems to enable software development and testing
  • Work with autonomous vehicles, demonstrating passion for robotics and autonomous systems
  • Use understanding of self-driving car sensing technology (e.g. LiDAR, Cameras, RADAR)
  • Investigate combination of autonomous software stack and new hardware
  • Ensure new platforms meet Oxbotica standards
  • Basic software development for integration of hardware and improving automation process
  • Commission new data logger
  • Write and perform test cases
  • Understand safety and legislative requirements
  • CANbus systems scrutiny and design
  • Debug electrical and hardware problems
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Engineering or related subject
  • Automotive, Robotics or similar industry background in System Engineering
  • Familiarity with python scripting or similar for automation
  • Previous background working with rapid prototyping vehicle software (e.g. Matlab / Simulink / dSPACE)
  • Knowledge of CANbus systems
  • Ability to work well under pressure and with tight timelines
  • Positive approach to problem solving and ability to 'think on your feet'
  • Able to proactively preempt problems and seize opportunities
  • Knowledge of key elements of autonomous systems
  • Demonstrate deep understanding of complex systems and appreciation of how components interact
  • Excellent communication skills
