Job Description:We are seeking a skilled Furniture Reupholsterer to join our team at The Work Shop Resourcing Ltd. In this role, you will work with a team of experts to restore and reupholster furniture to its original beauty.
Main Duties:- Work under the direction of the Upholstery Workshop Supervisor to ensure high-quality results.
- Measure and cut fabric or leather pieces to precise sizes and dimensions using patterns or stencils and industrial cutting tools.
- Apply and install batting, foam, poly-filler, and cut fabric to wooden framework in the assembly of hand-crafted furniture.
- Operate various types of equipment, including portable hand-sewing equipment, nail guns, and hot-knife cutters.
- Discuss complications or assembly slow-downs with the supervisor and suggest solutions.
- Manually sew upholstery or operate sewing machines to seam cushions and join various ends of a fabric.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of upholstery techniques by monitoring the industry to identify trends.
- Examine furniture frames, springs, and webbings to identify defects.
- Apply knowledge of upholstery to build or repair upholstered furniture using various hand or power tools.
- Prior experience in upholstery is preferred.
- Creative skills and physical stamina required to lift furniture.
- Prepared to work overtime if required.
As a Furniture Reupholsterer, you can expect a salary of £15 - £18 per hour (DOE) (£33,150 - £39,780 per annum) and excellent company benefits.
