Support Worker

We are excited to announce a rare opportunity for Support Workers to join our team at The Lighthouse in Lancashire. Our service is a 4-bedded child and adolescent mental health unit based in Darwen, Lancashire. As a Support Worker, you will be part of a multi-disciplinary team that aims to provide step-down care from child and adolescent mental health inpatient units.
Main Duties and Responsibilities- Work under the direction of senior nursing or professional staff to provide high-quality care to children and adolescents.
- Supervise children with all aspects of their physical care, including bathing, toileting, and dressing.
- Participate in the preparation and serving of meals, and supervise children during meal times.
- Assist and supervise children with domestic activities, such as washing up and tidying the service.
- Lead on the recreational, therapeutic, and educational programme for children, both inside and outside of the service.
- Act as a key worker for children under the supervision of a registered nurse, including home visits and school visits.
- Contribute to the assessment, implementation, and evaluation of treatment plans and risk management plans for children and their families.
- Communicate effectively with other healthcare professionals, parents, and agencies to ensure the best possible outcomes for children.
- Essential: You must either have or be working towards an NVQ level 3 qualification.
- Desirable: Previous experience working with children and young people, a passion for working collaboratively to improve their lives, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of care, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
