Job Description

Key Responsibilities
  • Define the work scope and interfaces for the contract or package of work
  • Secure resources to meet project requirements, ensuring SQEP and identifying personnel shortfalls
  • Develop and implement strategies and plans in line with the overall programme execution plan
  • Maintain effective communications with stakeholders and execute project strategies
  • Drive delivery of contract or package activities, ensuring safety, on-time delivery, and budget compliance
  • Identify risks and facilitate issue resolution, develop and update the programme budget, and escalate issues to the Senior Project Manager
  • Ensure level 3 schedules are developed and maintained, consistent with overall Project schedules
  • Review Contractor supplied Level 3 and 16 week rolling schedules
  • Ensure List of Deliverables (LOD) is delivered
  • Apply Earned Value Management (EVM) principles
  • Interface with other programmes to adopt best practices
  • Ensure contractual requirements are fulfilled
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with project team members

Requirements
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Project Management consistent with APM Role Profile for Project Manager Competency Framework
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Leadership and its application in complex projects
  • Proficient application of estimating, scheduling, programming, risk, and Earned Value Management tools
  • Working knowledge of French language an advantage
  • Understanding of nuclear quality and its assurance and control
  • Understanding of graded approach to quality
  • Degree and chartered status in construction, engineering, or other relevant discipline
  • Professional Qualification in Project Management such as APM PPQ or other recognised qualification
Engineering design, contract, and field execution strategies for project deliveryMulti-discipline EPCM ProjectsWorking knowledge and management experience of construction activitiesProcurement and management of complex contractsControl of costs, risk, schedule, and changeManagement of commercial claims and associated negotiation experienceProven successful experience in engaging multi-level stakeholders in a regulated environmentProven experience operating within NEC and FIDIC commercial arrangementsDemonstrated experience of managing major projects from concept to handover in a technically complex and dynamic environment
