Higher Education Outreach Specialist

In this dynamic position, you will be responsible for project managing and delivering effective recruitment and outreach activities targeting under-represented groups. Your primary focus will be on increasing quality applications to the University of Reading from students in further education or dedicated sixth form colleges.
Your role will involve providing information to prospective students about routes to higher education, specifically highlighting opportunities at the University of Reading. You will also take responsibility for identifying, developing, and promoting activity to raise awareness of alternative qualifications for accessing university courses.
Additionally, you will act as a link officer for various University Schools (Institute of Education, School of the Built Environment, and Art, Design, and Communication), helping them deliver activities to meet recruitment and widening participation targets across their courses.
This fast-paced role requires working at pace, managing projects and resources, representing the University to potential students and their parents, and building strong networks with internal and external stakeholders.
Your Key Responsibilities:- Deliver presentations to post-16 audiences
- Maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Contribute to project planning and resource management
- Represent the University in a professional capacity
The estimated salary for this role is £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience. The University of Reading offers a competitive benefits package, including access to training and development opportunities, a pension scheme, and a range of employee discounts.
This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974. A DBS check is required for this position due to the nature of the work.
