About the Role

As a Maintenance Operations Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee and coordinate maintenance activities, guaranteeing that all services are delivered to the highest possible standard and meet the necessary legal and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a Safe Working Environment: Promote and maintain a safe working environment for employees, actively supporting the Health and Safety committee and meetings associated with site policies and procedures.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Provide and oversee the maintenance, repair, and routine service of site processes, services, and equipment in alignment with production and management needs.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all maintenance and service comply with all legal, regulatory, and health and safety requirements.
  • TPM and PPM Activities: Support the production team in applying Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Predictive Maintenance (PPM) activities, ensuring timely completion according to the annual plan.
  • Paperwork and Reporting: Ensure accurate and legible paperwork completion in line with the maintenance process/system.
  • Continuous Improvement: Positively support and drive a continuous improvement culture within the production areas with the maintenance team.
  • Risk Assessments and H&S Improvements: Support risk assessments and all health and safety improvement activities, completing issues raised in a timely manner.
  • Capital Investment Projects: Recommend capital investment projects to enhance production/site performance.
  • Support to Production Needs: Respond promptly to support production needs for maintenance and repair in line with priorities set by the Maintenance Manager.
  • Operator Training: Support and conduct operator training as required.
  • Continuous Improvement Activities: Actively carry out continuous improvement activities/initiatives and Kaizen events to maximize productivity, proactively identifying and recommending improvements.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Share experience, best practice, and relevant knowledge with colleagues.
  • Good Housekeeping: Demonstrate good housekeeping practices.
  • New Product Introduction: Actively support the new product introduction process from an engineering perspective, attending meetings as required, sourcing equipment/solutions, and conducting tests/trials/pre-production runs when needed.
  • Flexibility: Be flexible in your approach to working to support production needs.
  • Other Duties: Perform any other duties as required by the Maintenance Manager.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Engineering Background: Time served HNC/HND (Mechanical and Electrical) with practical engineering supervision/min 2 years desirable in a manufacturing environment (packaging/FMCG/automotive).
  • PLC and Pneumatics Experience: PLC & pneumatics control experience essential – ability to design/modify/build software.
  • Problem-Solving Tools: Practical approach to modern problem-solving tools and techniques.
  • H&S Qualifications: NEBOSH/IOSH health and safety qualifications and wide practical experience desirable.
