Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Fitter to join our team in the transparencies department. This role involves working with acrylic and terylene laminate to manufacture Hawk and T45 canopies and windscreen shells.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with a team to achieve production requirements safely, on time, and to customer specifications.
  • Ensure staff and product safety through compliance with company EHS policies and procedures.
  • Comply with company quality procedures and read and follow work instructions, specifications, and part drawings.
  • Hold Approved Operator (AO) stamp for necessary operations and approve own work when requirements are met.
  • Participate in team meetings, share knowledge, and mentor trainees as required.
  • Ensure accurate job booking and labour vouchering in line with company policies and procedures.
  • Operate under own initiative and work with minimal supervision.
  • General housekeeping and support the 5 S culture.
  • Accurately complete work route cards to maintain component traceability.
  • Participate in LEAN events and improvement initiatives.
Requirements
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Engineering or Manufacturing, or Time-served apprenticeship in allied trades.
  • Numeracy, literacy, and IT skills, and able to read and understand technical documentation.
  • Good planning and problem-solving skills.
  • Working understanding of the 5 S and lean principles.
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude to succeed.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Demonstrate currency and competency of key skill codes required within department.
  • Great attention to detail and accuracy of task requirements.
  • Proven ability to actively participate in a team culture.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and shift working required.
Desirable Qualifications/Experience
  • Previous experience of composite detail and assembly manufacture.
  • Experience using composite carbon fibre techniques.
