Educational Assistant - SEN Job Description

Salary Range: £26,000 - £31,000 per year.

Our client is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with special educational needs in their welcoming school. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working with SEN students, a strong understanding of SEN practices, and excellent communication skills.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Supporting SEN students in the classroom, including adapting lessons to meet individual needs and promoting independence.
  2. Working closely with teachers and SEN staff to develop and implement personalized learning plans, tracking student progress and making adjustments as necessary.
  3. Fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment that values diversity and promotes academic achievement.
Essential Requirements:
  • Prior experience working with SEN students, ideally in a teaching assistant or similar support role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo the check).
