Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled RF Communications Engineer to join our team at Belcan. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing cutting-edge RF communication systems for satellite and aerospace applications.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Design and Development: Define, design, implement, and maintain measurement/test solutions for link/modem validation.
  2. Calibration and Metrology: Analyse calibration and metrology aspects, including statistical error analysis, confidence levels, and error budgets.
  3. Software Development: Develop modular, reusable software in Python (or similar languages) for various setups.
  4. Troubleshooting and Analysis: Troubleshoot and analyse link-performance issues.
  5. Collaboration: Collaborate with DSP, hardware, and software teams to enhance system performance.
Requirements and Qualifications
  1. Education: Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Physics.
  2. Experience: 2+ years of experience with RF measurement and instrumentation.
  3. Programming Skills: 2+ years of programming experience using Python, LabVIEW, SQL, or Embedded C.
  4. Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Experience
  1. Linux Operating Systems: Proficiency with Linux operating systems, VLANs, and network security.
  2. RF Measurement Experience: Hands-on RF measurement experience with analyzers, vector signal generators, power sensors, and network analyzers.
  3. Physical-Layer Modem Algorithms: Knowledge of physical-layer modem algorithms/standards (DVB-S2, CCSDS, SG NTN).
  4. Link-Performance Measurement: Experience with link-performance measurement (link/protocol testers, channel emulators).
  5. Collaborative Software Design: Collaborative software design experience (GIT, code reviews).
  6. Antenna Range Experience: Antenna range experience and OTA experiment design.
  7. RF Test Automation: RF test automation experience (SCPI, test executive).
  8. Statistical Analysis and Metrology: Statistical analysis and metrology expertise.
