About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Bridge Engineering Project Leader to drive the quality and timeliness of our service delivery.

Job Summary:

This is an exciting opportunity to join WSP, a leading global professional services consultancy. As a Senior Bridge Engineering Project Leader, you will be responsible for managing bridge engineering projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and lead bridge engineering projects, including preparation of documents, reports, and health and safety risk assessments;
  • Supervise and mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project delivery;
  • Develop and implement project management plans, timelines, and budgets, ensuring effective resource allocation and monitoring;
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary project teams, interfacing with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to achieve project objectives;
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and company policies, including the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) and Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works (MCDHW);
  • Evaluate and manage project risks, developing mitigation strategies to minimize their impact;
  • Analyze and interpret data from various sources, including grillage, space frame, and finite element analysis software packages such as LUSAS, Superstress, and SAM.

Requirements:

  • Possess extensive knowledge and experience in bridge engineering, with a strong background in project management, design, maintenance, and supervision of structures;
  • Hold a recognized degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, with a chartered status or equivalent;
  • Demonstrate expertise in structural analysis and design, with proficiency in CAD software and experience working with various construction materials;
  • Show a proven track record of delivering high-quality projects on time, within budget, and to the required standards;
  • Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders;
  • Demonstrate adaptability, resilience, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
