Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Children's Nurse to join our team on Penguin Ward at the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children.

Penguin is our inpatient surgery ward, primarily caring for children aged 0 – 10 years old with various surgical conditions. Our team is renowned for its capabilities in both emergency and elective surgical cases.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Trauma and Orthopaedic care
  • Ear Nose and Throat care
  • Plastic and cleft care
  • General surgery care

You will develop your skills through working alongside the Clinical Nurse Specialists and other members of the multidisciplinary team involved in the patient pathway.

About the Role

This role involves developing skills such as acute pain management, parental nutrition, complex fluid management, and planning and assessing care for complex post-operative surgical patients.

Requirements

  • Broad knowledge and experience of clinical nursing practice within a hospital environment
  • Interest in the clinical area
  • Experience of teaching
  • Experience of taking charge

Salary Information:

The salary for this role is £29,970 - £36,483 per annum, pro rata.
