Heavy Equipment Specialist Job Opportunity

Kelston Sparkes is seeking a highly skilled Heavy Equipment Specialist to join our team. This role involves leading the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment in a geographical area, ensuring high levels of safety and efficiency.

About the Position

You will be responsible for leading a team of engineers, overseeing maintenance and repair activities, and mentoring junior staff members. You will also be required to communicate effectively with management and onsite teams to resolve breakdowns and ensure smooth operations.

Main Responsibilities
  • Maintenance and Repair: Oversee the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment, including Cat, Volvo, Finlay, Gipo, and Metso machines.
  • Diagnostics and Problem-Solving: Conduct thorough diagnostics using manufacturers' diagnostic equipment (Cat ET, Volvo Tech Tool) to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor junior engineers and apprentices, providing guidance and support to ensure their growth and development.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with managers and onsite teams to ensure smooth operations and resolve breakdowns promptly.
Requirements and Salary
  • Education: NVQ level 3 plant maintenance or equivalent qualification.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems, aftertreatment systems, and IT literacy.
  • Experience: Proven experience in plant maintenance, quarry operations, and team leadership.

The estimated salary for this position is £62,500 - £72,500 per annum, depending on experience. We offer a competitive benefits package, including a generous pension scheme, life assurance, and annual leave entitlement.
