About the Role

As a Collision Researcher, you will play a critical role in enhancing road safety in the UK and globally through research and forensic investigation of road traffic incidents and collisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect valuable vehicle and scene data at live collision scenes, adhering to safety guidelines.
  • Collaborate with emergency services and other personnel to ensure smooth evidence collection.
  • Maintain ethical standards, handling confidential information professionally.
  • Interpret and analyse investigation data for database entry, ensuring high technical quality.
  • Identify patterns and factors in road collisions to inform proactive prevention measures.

Requirements

  • Interest or experience in collision investigations, vehicle dynamics, and/or human biomechanics.
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to undertaking complex investigations to high-quality standards.
  • Valid UK driving licence or convertible international licence.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and team-working skills.
  • A degree in Forensic Science, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Biomechanics, or similar would be a bonus.
  • Experience in data analysis and statistical modelling and liaising with and presenting information to external customers would be an advantage.
