We are seeking an experienced Contract Lawyer to join our team at Michael Page (UK) as a Legal Business Partner.

Job Description
As a Contract Lawyer in this role, you will provide day-to-day legal support to our business, advising on various legal issues with a particular emphasis on software licensing, including SaaS, data protection, and AI. You will work closely with our Sales teams to enable them to conclude licensing, services, and other commercial contracts. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing practical legal support to our Sales teams to enable them to conclude licensing, services, and other commercial contracts.
- Advising on various legal issues with a particular emphasis on software licensing, including SaaS, data protection, and AI.
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements specifically related to AI technologies and data protection, ensuring compliance with current and emerging regulations and best practices.
- Collaborating with and coordinating closely with other members of the Legal, Sales, HR, Procurement, Development, IT, and Marketing teams to drive desired outcomes.
- Anticipating and assessing emerging legal risk areas across the company, resolving issues, and mitigating risks.
- Preparing reports for our executive management team regarding contract escalations and various legal issues.
- Handling other legal matters as needed to help our business achieve its desired outcomes.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- 2+ years of commercial/IT legal and compliance experience at a recognised leading commercial law firm or as part of an in-house team.
- In-house legal experience in the technology sector is desirable.
- Excellent knowledge and practical application of general commercial law and legal issues relating to the provision of IT products and services.
- A clear understanding and practical experience of SaaS & UK/EU data protection legislation.
- An understanding and interest in AI and legal technology.
What's on Offer
We offer a competitive salary aligning with market rate (£60,000 - £80,000 per annum), plus a 10% bonus, healthcare, 25 days holiday + BH + 3 days paid volunteering days, and hybrid working - 2 days in the office and 3 days at home.
