Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Avionics Technician to join our team at AMETEK. The successful candidate will be responsible for repairing and overhauling a wide range of aircraft communications, navigation, radar, radio, and audio units to component level.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Undertake precise mechanical work and electronics repair, including through-hole and surface-mounted components.
  • Complete fault-finding, repair, and testing processes using specialized and general-purpose test equipment.
  • Work in accordance with the manufacturer's component maintenance manual and regulatory approvals, as well as the company's quality system.
  • Maintain accurate and legible repair records and ensure they are filed in a timely manner.
  • Ensure quality and cost-effectiveness, meeting accuracy and safety standards.
  • Stay up-to-date with company working practices and procedures.
  • Undertake cross-training in other technical areas as required by the business.
  • Utilize the Quantum system for effective delivery.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Subject to business needs and level of competency, carry out independent inspections on other technician repairs.
  • Undertake training identified as a requirement of the role by the role manager.
  • Perform other reasonable requests made by the role manager, acting manager, or directors.
  • Be flexible and provide support outside of normal tasks during periods of reduced department staff attendance to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • On occasion, take on ad-hoc duties, including training, department-associated tasks, and secondment to other departments.

Standards and Compliance:

  • Understand and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures and their application to the role.
  • Comply with Health and Safety requirements at all times.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies' requirements.
  • Report any issues that could potentially affect the business to the manager.
  • Perform all duties in line with Company policies and procedures in place at the time.

Essential Requirements:

  • Full Driving Licence
  • Degree/Diploma in Aircraft Engineering, Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering Technology, or equivalent
  • Experience working in EASA 145 maintenance organizations and understanding of regulations
  • Good understanding of aircraft component maintenance principles and system avionics
  • Comprehensive knowledge of quality, health & safety, and environmental management concepts and principles
  • Understanding of policies and procedures, proven ability to communicate, lead, and deliver improvement initiatives
  • IS09001:2015/AS9100/AS9110 experience
  • Auditing internal/external
  • Takes ownership
  • Ability to work well in multidiscipline/cross-functional teams
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build close-knit relationships with outside agencies
  • Strong analytical, administrative, and organizational skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Innovative and enthusiastic
  • Ability to work under pressure, to tight deadlines, and multitask
  • Strong communicator (verbal and written)
  • Takes ownership
  • Able to work effectively with minimum supervision after completion of probationary period
  • Due to the nature of the business, security clearance will be required
