Job Title: Orthopaedic Scrub Theatre Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Orthopaedic Scrub Theatre Practitioner to join our team in Derriford Hospital. As a key member of our theatre team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients and their families during the perioperative period.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Working primarily in the scrub and circulatory role within theatres, you will be responsible for assisting with projects to develop and enhance patient care, participating in the evaluation of patient outcomes, and demonstrating an awareness of and compliance with Health and Safety regulations/procedures.
  • You will be responsible for reporting and managing untoward incidents, such as clinical emergencies, injury, or drug administration errors, as detailed in Trust policies and procedures.
  • Managing the clinical risk relating to individuals or a group of patients' care, you will report issues to appropriate senior staff.
  • Maintaining active NMC/HPC registration, you will also maintain personal and professional development to meet the changing demands of the job.
Person Specification:
  • Registered with NMC/HCPC
  • Diploma/Degree in a related Healthcare subject or demonstrable equivalent experience
  • Proven evidence of recent CPD
  • Proven knowledge of and ability to apply evidence-based practice to patient care
  • Accredited specialist training
Knowledge and Experience:
  • Registered with NMC/HCPC
  • Competent in anaesthetics, scrub, or recovery
  • Demonstrate awareness of financial constraints
  • Methodical and organised
