About the Role

This is an exceptional opportunity to become a key figure in a leading international commercial firm's real estate litigation team in London.

The firm has an outstanding reputation as a trusted adviser to a diverse portfolio of clients. With expertise spanning multiple sectors, including transport and logistics, international trade, retail, insurance, marine, health, education, manufacturing, public sector, and banking and financial services, they provide comprehensive support to their clients.

The real estate team specializes in development tripwires, dispute resolution, real property-related litigation, landlord and tenant management and disputes, and advises on alternative dispute resolution (ADR) methods and formal court proceedings.

The Real Estate Litigation team seeks a partner to:

  • Lead the team, collaborating with partners across offices and departments to ensure work is completed efficiently and meets high standards;
  • Jointly oversee the team's achievement of budgets and gross margins, with personal contributions towards the team budget;
  • Contribute personally to the team budget, set at £300k;
  • Introduce high-quality work into the team and the firm, demonstrating ability to generate repeat business from clients - aiming for £x,xxx in year-one client fees;
  • Collaborate with partners and fee earners in other teams to promote and generate work for the Real Estate Litigation team, supporting the firm's growth strategy;
  • Mentor junior fee earners, developing career plans and ensuring they have opportunities for growth;

Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience handling complex property litigation matters, including supervising partners and case handlers;
  • Experience with a full range of property disputes, particularly focusing on real property issues (easements, restrictive covenants), contractual disputes, and insolvency-property disputes;
  • Ability to delegate work to junior fee earners, ensuring they are fully resourced and working effectively;
  • Strong Business Development and Marketing skills;
  • A successful record at a reputable firm, strong client following, and ability to maintain and grow client base;
